The short answer

Check the official JUDU journey planner first. The 88N night bus links Vilnius Airport with the station, city centre, and Europa Square during its published night window; daytime options include routes 88 and 3G. If the night service does not match your arrival, use the official airport information for the train or a licensed taxi and avoid guessing from an old timetable.

Map the accommodation before the flight

Save the full street address, the nearest public-transport stop, and the accommodation's late check-in instructions. "Old Town" covers more ground than it appears to when you are carrying bags after midnight.

Use the JUDU planner with the scheduled landing time, then repeat the search after baggage collection. A delayed arrival can change the best option.

Use the night route only when the live plan confirms it

JUDU lists the 88N as an overnight airport route through the station and city centre to Europa Square. It is intended for late-evening and early-morning travel, but the exact stop and departure still need a current timetable check.

Do not assume the daytime route 88 and night route 88N use identical times or stops. Match the route number shown in the live planner.

Know the daytime alternatives

Route 88

A direct daytime route toward the city centre and Europa Square; verify the best stop for the accommodation.

Route 3G

An express connection through the city centre. Express routes do not stop everywhere.

Routes 1 and 2

Useful when the railway or bus-station area is the better transfer point.

Airport train

The train connects the airport with Vilnius Railway Station; compare its live departure with the bus for your arrival.

Buy a ticket you can actually activate

JUDU publishes several ways to pay, including contactless payment on the vehicle and its ticket products. App requirements and fares can change, so read the current payment instructions before boarding.

A ticket is not valid merely because it was purchased; follow the current validation instruction. If you use contactless, present the card to the correct validator and keep it available for inspection.

Keep a clear late-night fallback

If the live planner shows a long wait, several changes, or no service, use the official airport taxi information or a pre-arranged licensed transfer. Share the vehicle details with your travel companion and use the accommodation's exact address.

Do not accept an unsolicited ride inside the terminal. A slightly higher legitimate fare is better than an unverified late-night arrangement.

Night routes, fares, and payment methods are operational information. Recheck them after landing rather than relying only on this article.

Verify before you travel

  • The live JUDU route and stop for your actual arrival time
  • Current 88N operating window and service notices
  • Ticket purchase and validation instructions
  • Accommodation late check-in and a licensed fallback transport option
